~About Panthera~

Want to find out about the identity of my Panthera? Click here to find out.

Panthera is one of the key figures in Storm Constantine's The Fulfilments of Hate and Desire, the third book in the Wraeththu trilogy. As many of her characters, he is one with many sides. He is young, a born har, in many things still quite naive. But he also can be a deadly weapon and once he gets to trust a person, his ways are passionate and loving.

Born into a royal house, Panthera had the misfortune of being captured and sold as a slave to a brothel, where he had to serve the more brutal and perverted guests of the house. His pride and unbroken will made his owner have him locked up in a small chamber, most of the times chained to the bed. How a soul can endure such a thing and yet remain unbroken, we cannot even guess. Yet Panthera managed, or maybe the small spark of hope he still had left got ignited again only when he met Calanthe. Together, they can escape their fate as prostitutes, and while Cal is on his journey to regain his lost love Pellaz, Panthera more and more falls in love with him, knowing that their time together inevitably must come to an end in Immanion, where Pellaz lives.

Nevertheless, his love is selfless. Panthera knows that he has to let Cal go. And he knows that one of them will always be the one who loves more.

The author:

Storm Constantine is a well-knowned Fantasy Writer. Her Wraeththu trilogy, published in the late 80's, has caused a world-wide fascination for her androgynous creatures and made her continue the saga about the successors of men two decades later in a new trilogy.
